DBxtra Schedule Server

Use the DBxtra .NET Schedule Server to become more productive immediately.

The DBxtra .NET Schedule Server allows to automatically:

• Send simple E-mails

• Send E-mails with merged data

• Send E-mails and attach merged reports

• Alert DBxtra .NET users by E-mail

• Upload reports to an FTP Server

• Export report data to files to PDF, HTML, text, CSV, MHT, Excel, RTF, images or XML format

With the DBxtra .NET Schedule Server

• You can easily attach DBxtra .NET reports and  files to E-mails

• Zip files to

• You can define if to execute missed Schedules

• Send log files by E-mail

• You can run a Schedule manually or automatically and also set it up as a Windows Service

Logon

When you logon to DBxtra Schedule Server you need to enter your user name.

Schedule Organization

The DBxtra Schedule Server is very much organized the same way as the DBxtra Designer.

The Project Explorer is divided by Projects and Schedules.

Each Project contains Schedules organized by folders.

Configure a Schedule Project

It is recommended that you configure default settings for each Schedule Project.

These default settings will be taken for new each Schedule Job.

You can still change configuration for each individual Schedule Job.

Click Config on the menu.

Merge Catalogue

The merge catalogue tells the DBxtra .NET Schedule Server on which field to merge (Key) and also gives you access to the most important merge fields like Contact; Company and E-mail.

Select a DBxtra Object like a Query or Report as Merge Catalogue and select fields.

E-mail Configuration

You can decide if to send E-mails through an SMTP Server or with MS Outlook.

If you decide to send E-mails through SMTP then enter all required SMTP settings.

FTP Server Settings

If you want to upload DBxtra .NET Reports to your FTP Server then define all required FTP settings.

Click Save when finished.

Create a new Schedule

Click New on the menu bar.

Assign a Schedule name and path.

Assign recurrence and date and hour to execute the Schedule automatically.

You can assign the following Recurrence:

• Only Once

• Daily

• Weekly

o Lets you choose the weekdays the Schedule has to be executed

• Monthly

• First day of month

• Last day of month

• Custom

o Lets you assign a value (each) for minutes; hours, days, months

Define if to run missed Schedules.

If you decide to select Run missed Schedules the even though for some reason DBxtra .NET could not execute the Schedule on its programmed date and time to run it will attempt to run it when possible on a later time.

Send me a Log File

If you select this option then every time DBxtra .NET executes a Schedule it will send a log file in XML format to the user who created the Schedule by E-mail.

Each Schedule can hold unlimited Schedule Jobs.

Important! DBxtra Schedule Server is licensed on amounts of Schedule Jobs.

The DBxtra .NET Schedule Server allows to automatically:

• Send simple E-mails

• Send E-mails and attach merged reports

• Alert DBxtra users by E-mail

• Upload reports to an FTP Server

• Export report data

• Print reports

To create a new Schedule Job click the Add Job button.

Save the Schedule

Click Save on the menu bar.

Edit a Schedule

To edit a Schedule select it and in the Project Explorer and click Edit on the menu.

Open the Schedule by double clicking it in the Project Explorer.

Select  the Schedule Job.

Double click the Schedule Job or click the Edit Job button.

Execute a DBxtra .NET Schedule

Execute a Schedule manually

You can run a Schedule manually by selecting it and by clicking the Execute Now button on the menu bar.

Or you can select it and right click Execute Now.

Execute a Schedule automatically

DBxtra offers two option to run a Schedule automatically.

Execute as a Windows Service

The DBxtra .NET Schedule Server can be run as a Windows service.

Click Install / Uninstall on the Utilities menu bar and then select Service Start.

When the Schedule Windows Service is running then the DBxtra Schedule Server does not have to open.

Execute by leaving the DBxtra Schedule Server open.

If you don’t have DBxtra Schedule Server installed as Windows Service then the Schedule Server has to be open in order to execute each Schedule automatically.

Schedule Logs

Dashboard

You can view all Schedule Jobs logs at the Schedule dashboard.

If you chose to send an E-mail with an log file then you will also receive an E-mail containing a XML log file.
