The DBxtra Report Web Service allows you to automatically publish your reports to a Web Server.
The Web Server can be on a PC, LAN or on a Internet Web Server.
Once a report or Query si saved it can immediately be viewed through any web browser.
Important! You need Windows Administrator privilege to install the Report Web Service.
To login to DBxtra click DBxtra .NET on the Windows Programs Menu.

Accept the License Agreement
The DBxtra .NET Server database holds all definitions about your Project.
The first time you login to DBxtra .NET you will be asked if either to create a new DBxtra Server Database or to connect to an existing one.

Click Create.
If you use DBxtra .NET in multi-user environment then you need to place the DBxtra Server DB on a shared resource where all DBxtra .NET users can connect to.
This allows you to use the DBxtra Report Web Service.
Important! You need Windows Administrator privilege to install the Report Web Service.
Important! You need to have the Windows Internet Information Services installed on your PC or Server in order to use the Report Web Service.
Select Report Web Service.

Assign a Alias name. By default DBxtra suggest DBxtra .NET.
Select a directory where to place the files. DBxtra will create a folder named DBxtra .NET inside the selected path.
Click Create.
This will create a Virtual Directory and assign the Report Web Service path to it.
It will also automatically assign the ASPNET window user privileges for the Virtual Directory.

DBxtra .NET comes pre-configured with an Admin user.
The Admin user does not have a password assigned.
We recommend to login DBxtra and assign a password.
Click Sign in.
Important!
When you created the DBxtra Server database - the first time you used DBxtra - then you had the choice to either create it as a file path or as a Report Web Service.
If you chose to run it as a Report Web Service then the setup of it should be done.
Important! You need Windows Administrator privilege to install the Report Web Service.
Important! The DBxtra Server Database has to be located on your PC to do the following; in case you placed it on a Server or a shared resource then you need to copy it to your PC and connect to it first.
Click Configure Web Service on the Web Service menu.
Important! You need to have the Windows Internet Information Services installed on your PC or Server in order to use the Report Web Service.
Select Report Web Service.


Assign a name and click Create Virtual Directory.
This will create a Virtual Directory and assign the Report Web Service path to it.
It will also automatically assign the ASPNET window user privileges for the Virtual Directory.
DBxtra will close and open again.
You can open the Report Web Service from DBxtra.
Click Open Web Service on the Report Web Service menu.

The DBxtra Report Web Service will load in your default Web browser.

Login with your DBxtra credentials.
