Important! Backing up, restoring and compacting the DBxtra Server database only works if you're connected to it through a file path.
If you are connected through the Report Web Service then you need to do that manually.
To backup your DBxtra Server database click Backup DBxtra Server DB on the Utilities menu.
Assign a backup path and click Create.
The backup will be created with the file extension ".bak".
IMPORTANT!
If you restore from XML file all objects Id will change and your objects embedded wit the Web Report Widget and also book marked Web-reports won't open anymore.
Click Backup DBxtra Server DB to XML.
Select the path to send the backup file to.
This will output a file like that: DBxtra_Backup_File_27112009_112531.bak
DBxtra will also create a zipped copy of the DBxtra Server Database and place it on your Report Web Service BackUP folder.
Optionally you'll be asked if you want to download the zipped DBxtra Server Database file from the Server.
This option will download a zipped copy of your DBxtraDB.mdb file.
Click Yes to download it.
To recover a DBxtra Server database backup click Restore DBxtra Server DB on the Utilities menu.
Assign the path to the DBxtra Server database backup.
Important! Your actual DBxtra Server database will be completely overwritten by the restore.
Click Restore DBxtra Server DB from XML.
Select the priory baked up file with the extension .bak, select which Projects to recover and click Restore.
IMPORTANT!
All your current Projects will be overwritten with the selected Projects.
It is recommended that you compact your DBxtra Server DB from time to time.
Important! We strongly recommend that you make a backup of your DBxtra Server DB before compacting it.
To compact a DBxtra Server DB backup click "Compact DBxtra Server DB" on the "Utilities" Ribbon.
