Connect to Informix

Click New on the Connection menu.

Select Informix.

Connection name: assign a name.

Server: enter the name of the Informix Server.

Host: assign the name of the machine on which the Informix server resides.

Note! It depends on your Informix configuration if this setting is required or not.

Protocol: Assign the network protocol.

Note! It depends on your Informix configuration if this setting is required or not.

Service: Assign the entry in the /etc/services or master NIS file (On Windows NT, the services file is located in C:\winnt40\system32\drivers\etc)  for the port that Informix listens on. This can also be the port# for the service name, such as 1526.
Note: Edit your /etc/services or master NIS file so that it contains a line like this: turbo 1526/tcp.
Note! It depends on your Informix configuration if this setting is required or not.

Database: enter the database name.

Database Locale: Specify the language, territory, and code set that the Informix server needs to interpret locale-sensitive data types.

Note! It depends on your Informix configuration if this setting is required or not.

User: enter the user id

Password: enter the database password

SQL dialect: define which Informix SQL dialect  to use. That should be consistent with the Informix version of your database.

Select User Groups who can view the Connection: Assign user groups with privileges to open objects from this connection.

Click Ok to establish the connection.

 

Important!

For full functionality it is recommended that the IBM © Informix Client 3 driver is installed on your system.
